Victoria and Alexei Markovichi unexpectedly found themselves in the spotlight in January of this year. All because Victoria, a young, attractive woman from Volgograd, suddenly gave birth to four sons!
A quadruplet is born very infrequently—only one in a hundred thousand births. Such tales simultaneously uplift, amuse, and frighten. How do you survive, have a baby, and feed four people? How do the four new brothers, who have two slightly elder sisters, feel? At the age of 27, how does it feel to become a mother of six kids?
“I always thought that I would have two, well, maybe three 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. We have two daughters, 7 years old and 2 years old. My husband wanted a boy so much that we thought about having a third one, and I immediately became pregnant. We were sure it was a boy. But it turned out that there were four boys at the same time,” Victoria explained.
At the first screening, all assumptions were confirmed. The doctor joked, “I see you have a whole bunch of babies there… Maybe look for the fifth one.” Now I had to get used to the idea that four babies would appear in the family at the same time.
I was in the hospital when labor suddenly started at 29 weeks. They took me to the delivery room. It was night, and my main task was to hold out until the morning. After all, you have to wait until the entire medical staff comes to work! My 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡. The doctors who were on duty in the hospital at night were not enough. Each 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 relied on its own brigade,” she added.
Child𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 took place with the participation of 30 physicians. All the babies were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 safely by ᴄᴀᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ. The heaviest of them weighed 1490 grams, and the lightest 900 grams. The babies were immediately placed in incubators – special devices that maintain the desired temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels. The brothers were then transferred one by one to heated beds. Now they are gradually being transferred to regular cribs.
They will have a good team! We already imagined with our neighbors in the ward how the quadruplets would go to kindergarten together in one group. They would study together in the same class. This mother will need strength, a lot of strength, in order to raise and put her six 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren on their feet.
