The January transfer window is set to end today and it is expected to be one of the most dramatic deadline days in the history of the sport.
Chelsea have already been making it the most craziest and busiest from any single club, and they could be looking to make it even more crazier today with a few potential late ins and outs still on the table.
They are of course attempting to tie up a deal to sign Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez before the deadline this evening, and this might mean there is scope for Chelsea to allow a midfielder or two of their own to depart the club today.
It doesn’t look like Jorginho is going to extend his Chelsea contract this summer, meaning he will become a free agent, and there has been talk of him leaving today so Chelsea can get a fee for him.
Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in signing him, and he would be open to moving there, according to Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside.
“Caicedo remains the priority but Brighton have absolutely no plan to change their stance, it’s really difficult,” Romano said.
“Jorginho is another option on the table; Serie A return has always been his priority, but he’d be open to join Arsenal. It’s up to Arsenal, if they want to proceed or not; he’s one of the player they have been considering in the last ten days.”
