One day, a boy from South African walked 3 km alone to rescue his puppy. The boy is only 13-year-old., He lives in Delft, one of Cape Town’s poorest communities. The boy noticed his dog had stopped eating and had bloody diarrhoea, so he set off to find help.
He went 2 miles into town to an animal welfare organization that takes care of dogs and cats in the area.
An employee of the rescue organization called and said: ,,She was very thin, and the boy told us that he didn’t have enough money to feed her. We told him that we would do our best to save her life and find her a loving new home that could take care of her. We were so grateful that he brought her to us so we could help her.”
It turned out that the puppy, named Nanouk, was suffering from a fatal disease called parvovirus, which she would not have survived without treatment.
To keep her spirits up, Nanouk was regularly visited by other kittens from the shelter to keep her going.
I think it was a combination of the kittens and the fact that one of us was by her side all the time, giving her attachment and inspiration.” Stöckigt said. Rescuers are looking for a loving home for Nanuk.

Nanuk was about to die if she wouldn’t eat.
We are so thankful for the good heart of this young man that saved her life!
Nanuk hopes to find soon a forever home!
