Nothing compares to the affection a child has for his or her parents. And this is true not only of humans, but of all living things. As a result, losing a parent is the most devastating experience a creature can have on this planet. Phil Moore, a wildlife photographer, captured some heartfelt images to prove it.
After losing its mother to poachers, this gorilla is in excruciating misery. And, because the situation is so stressful, the unfortunate gorilla seeks comfort from one of the park’s keepers, Patrick Karabaranga, whose love for the orphaned gorilla is very poignant.

Mountain gorillas, like many other animals, have become severely endangered as a result of widespread deforestation. Their numbers have dropped considerably in recent years. Apart from that, poaching is another human activity that endangers animals.
Great conservation efforts have been done to rebuild the gorilla population, with Virunga National Park serving as an excellent example. Around 200 people live here, accounting for nearly a fifth of the world’s mountain gorilla population. But there’s still a lot to be done!
