Conor McGregor responds after Liam Neeson calls him ‘a little leprechaun who gives Ireland a bad name’
The fighter responded on Twitter
In the face of criticism from another huge Irish name, Conor McGregor has reacted publicly to harsh words from actor Liam Neeson.
It came after Neeson accused the fighter of damaging Ireland’s reputation.
“Irish proud – always,” McGregor responded via social media.
Liam Neeson’s criticism of Conor McGregor
“UFC, I can’t stand, that to me is like a bar fight,” Neeson told Men’s Health.
“I know the practitioners are like ‘no, you’re wrong, the months of training we do…’
“Why don’t you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy over the head?
“That’s the next stage of the UFC, I hate it.
“That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name.
“I know he’s fit, and I admire him for that, but I can’t take it.”
In fact, Neeson often gets into trouble in interviews as he was once accused of being a racist.
That’s because, during a chat with The Independent to promote his film ‘Cold Pursuit’, the actor described how he walked the streets in search of a black person out for revenge.
