Monkey D. Garp is an extremely famous and powerful Marine vice admiral. Garp is one of the strongest characters in One Piece. In his youth, he fought on par against the Pirate King Gol D. Roger, to the point that he was considered his one true rival.
Garp’s reputation and accomplishments made him a legend among the Marines. Chapter 1071 of One Piece shows that Garp will soon have the chance to prove if he is still as strong as he was in his youth.
We all know that Koby, a young Marine captain who has been trained by Garp, has been captured by Blackbeard, the vicious and dangerous Emperor who killed Whitebeard and has built a powerful pirate crew of Devil Fruit users. But why would Blackbeard want to capture Koby?
In chapter 1071, Garp boldly declares that he is going to rescue Koby, with complete disregard for the orders coming from the Marine Headquarters, even if this means he will have to fight Blackbeard with no support.
I believe the goal of Blackbeard is to use Koby to lure Garp into a trap, not kill him. Blackbeard knows that Garp is aware of what happened at God Valley, or more specifically, where Xebec’s body is.
Pudding will be forced to pull Garp’s memories of god valley out and reveal the location of Xebec’s body. He will then have Moria put the shadow of someone powerful, possibly even Garps shadow, into Xebec’s body.
What could be a more powerful weapon for world conquest, than the body of the man who wanted to be king of the world, powered by the shadow of the man that helped defeat him.
Blackbeard’s ultimate weapon is Rocks D. Xebec.
