Austin Butler, the Elvis star, has been making headlines for his brilliant performance as Elvis Presley in the film. The actor has received numerous accolades including a Golden Globe and Oscar nominations. During the Oscar luncheon, he met his hero Tom Cruise. Butler detailed the encounter hesitant to spill all details.
Butler’s fan moment comes at a time when Cruise is targeted with sour comments from Judd Apatow a comedian, director, producer, and screenwriter. During the DGA Awards Apatow took many swings at the Top Gun 2 star.

Speaking to Extra’s Terri Butler, the actor talked about his recent success, friends, fan moments, and the slow burn. When the interviewer asked how it felt meeting Tom Cruise and what was he chatting about with the senior actor. Butler teased,
“About it all, you know? It was our first time meeting. So told him what he meant to me and he told me his feelings on the film and, and just this profession that we both share a love for, and some of those things I keep private.”

Terri insisted that Butler spill all details about the unexpected meeting. After some thought and pleading the Elvis actor finally gave in and spilled the tea, “He [Tom Cruise] said he liked it [Elvis]!”. Butler is thrilled that Tom Cruise like his work, Terri questioned the young actor on shooting for Vanity Fair Cover, to which Butler elaborated,
“It was a lot of fun. I’ve been a fan of [photographer] Steven Klein’s for a long time, and that was very fun and I got to see my friends, you know, Selena and Florence [Pugh] and it was just, it was lovely to get to be there.”
Butler has known the two actresses for a long time and it was a delight catching up again. Sharing a unique space with not just Gomez but also Pugh. The interviewer strayed into sensitive territories when he asked Austin Butler about why he is so grateful that success took its time for him. Even though the actor is a huge fan of the Titanic star DiCaprio, he did not mind waiting for Hollywood fame. On this Austin Butler had a lot to say,
“Well, I think for one, it’s the realization that we’re all on our path, that things happen in time for each one of us, you know… Anybody else’s… is irrelevant because we all have our own journey, and for myself, it was that it gave me time to really, one, kind of grow into myself, but two, to have time to really try to figure out how to get better as an actor.”
He continued,
“Because those times where you don’t get a job or you do a job and you’re not happy with your work or you don’t feel like your skill is at the level that your taste is, you know, and so it gave me many years of kind of going back to the drawing board and trying to figure out how to get better.”
For Leonardo DiCaprio success came quickly when he was young and adventurous. Now the actor has been receiving bad press for his dating etiquette.
Judd Apatow mocks Tom Cruise for his height and beliefs

While hosting the DGA Awards, comedian Judd Apatow took several jibes at Mission: Impossible actor Tom Cruise. In his monologue, he mocked Cruise’s height, ambition, and beliefs. He began making fun of Cruise saying,
“visual effects in [Top Gun:] Maverick were so top-notch I couldn’t even see the stack of phone books Tom Cruise sat on to reach the flight controls.” He continued, “That’s why he’s always jumping out of tall buildings because you can’t tell how short he is from a 100-story building. That’s why when he’s standing on a wing of an airplane he’s always alone, he doesn’t want anyone there next to him for scale.”
The comedian continued,
“Tom is not fine, something is wrong right now. Someone needs to explain something to him called CGI — you don’t need to do the stunts, they look exactly the same when you do them on the green screen.”
The director shifted to Cruise’s infamous relationship with the Church of Scientology claiming that Cruise’s stunts are an ad for the Church. Apatow also trolled the actor for his comments on anti-depressants.
“Every time he does one of these new stunts it does feel like an ad for Scientology, it really does. I mean, is that in Dianetics because there’s nothing about jumping off a cliff in the Torah? The only thing he seems to be afraid of is coparenting and antidepressants.”
Tom Cruise has not responded to these comments yet, Director Joseph Kosinski of Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, who was up for the night’s top honor, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer were present for the monologue, but the actor himself was absent because he had already made an appearance at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon earlier in the week.
