Selena Gomez looked to be having a grand time while attending a pajama party with Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz.
The singer, 30, and Nicola, 27, looked adorable in silk pink pajamas, while Brooklyn, 23, was comfortable in a white T-shirt and matching bottoms, as they celebrated the release of Selena’s new documentary, My Mind & Me.
It comes after Selena’s shock fall out with her kidney donor best friend Francia Raisa spilled onto social media earlier in the day, after the singer snubbed her in the documentary, and named Taylor Swift as her only famous pal.
Justin Bieber’s ex shared two TikToks from the fun celebration, featuring her friends and her nine-year-old baby sister Gracie Elliot Teefey.
In the clips the singer had her dark tresses pulled back into a ponytail, and accessorized with gold hoop earrings and numerous bracelets.
Nicola also shared a number of snaps from the night on her Instagram and revealed that her husband was the chef for the event.
‘Girls night celebrating your beautiful documentary congratulations selena! (thanks b for the best food everrrrr).’
In the first photo her and Selena were seen relaxing together on a couch underneath a cozy white fuzzy blanket.
Nicola wore her long black tresses down, and sported a touch of black eyeliner.
Another snap showed the group of gals all together in their adorable matching pajamas.
The group included Selena’s friend Raquelle Stevens, Courtney Lopez, and Ashley Cook. The ladies all accessorized with chunky baby blue platform heels.
One of Selena’s TikTok’s featured her, Nicola, and Gracie with the caption ‘My babies.’
Meanwhile the other showed off Brooklyn as he hugged his wife closely and kissed her shoulder tenderly. The son of former England footballer David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham also raised his glass in a toast at one point.
In another part of the video Selena and Nicola were seen posing as they held up replica Oscar statuettes.
The clip also displayed the fabulous decor for the night, including crystal glasses dipped in crushed pink salt.
There was also a spectacular floral cake with a large heart and the word ‘congratulations’ written on it.
Chef Beckham prepared what appeared to be a rice dish as well as a red pasta dish. There was also plenty of candy to snack placed in white bowls throughout the table.
The fun night out took place after Gomez appeared to have a fallout with her best friend and kidney donor Francia Raisa.
Gomez left an eyebrow raising comment underneath a TikTok video that discussed how her former best friend Francia Raisa recently unfollowed her on Instagram.
The actress shared the comment underneath a clip that talked about how Francia, 34 – who donated her kidney to Gomez in 2017 – unfollowed her a day after Gomez’s documentary, My Mind & Me, premiered, detailing her health struggles but giving no mention of Francia.
‘Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,’ Selena – who recently stated that Taylor Swift was her ‘only friend’ in the industry – wrote in the comments.
It comes after Francia wrote ‘interesting’ on an Instagram post by ENews that featured a quote from Selena discussing her friendship with Swift.
‘I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor,’ the Only Murders in the Building star told Rolling Stone magazine this week.
Francia has since deleted her comment and unfollowed Gomez. However, Gomez still follows her on Instagram.
Gomez also spoke about receiving a kidney to Rolling Stone, however her quotes did not mention Raísa being her donor.
Justin Bieber’s ex also gave a candid look into her health battle in her documentary, at one point breaking down into tears as she struggled with her lupus symptoms worsening.
In it she comes to terms with the fact that her battle with the autoimmune disease was the toughest it had been in a while as she felt excruciating pain ‘everywhere.’
Selena and Francia have been friends for over 10 years and have even referred to each other as ‘sisters’ in the past.
In July, Francia discussed how she’s had to alter her diet, after she donated a kidney to Selena, who suffers from Lupus – an autoimmune disorder that causes the body’s natural immune defenses to attack healthy tissue.
‘Because I have one kidney functioning and it acts as a filter to my body, I can’t consume as much protein. I eat a lot — I know I’m skinny, but I chow down — so that was a very huge concern for me when I talked to the doctor,’ she told Yahoo Life.
‘There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa,’ Selena wrote. ‘She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.’
At the time the duo also did a joint interview on the Today show, with Gomez detailing just how dire her health situation had been.
‘My kidneys were shutting down. My mentality was to keep going. She lived with me during this interesting time where my kidneys were just done. That was it, and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life. The thought of asking someone to do that was really difficult for me. She volunteered and did it. And let alone someone wanting to volunteer, it is incredibly difficult to find a match. The fact that she was a match, I mean that’s unbelievable. That’s not real.’
Both Francia and Selena, said they ‘went through depression’ post-surgery, according to Self. Francia said it was difficult for Selena because she had complications after the surgery, where her kidney turned around inside of her body and she needed to have emergency surgery to correct it.
Francia said that after surgery, she received a text message Selena that said: ‘I’m so scared I might die.’
She explained: ‘That’s when she got the complication where the kidney turned and broke an artery and she had to go back in and they actually had to take a vein from her leg – so she has a scar right here [pointing to her inner thigh] and build a wall around her artery.’
At the time Francia also showed her scars, which included two on her stomach and one below her belly button.
The songstress also defended Francia after a tasteless joke was made about who really donated the kidney in Saved by the Bell reboot in 2020. The joke was later cut out due to the backlash.
Selena addressed the situation months later, Tweeting: ‘I am not sure how writing jokes about organ transplants for television shows has become a thing but sadly it has apparently. I hope in the next writer’s room when one of these tasteless jokes are presented it’s called out immediately and doesn’t make it on air.’
But just a year after her kidney donation, the two were said to be feuding, with Francia taking an issue with Selena’s ‘unhealthy lifestyle’ and her consuming alcohol following the surgery.
Selena even responded to a commentator who addressed the issue, after she shared a TikTok video where she joked about her drinking.
‘So one of your best friends gives you her kidney and you continue to drink excessively. Damn Selena,’ the user wrote, to which the former Disney star replied, ‘It was a joke a**.’
However, they reportedly reconciled in 2021, after Raisa shared about the process of kidney donation on her social media.
She was also present at Selena’s 30th birthday party in July and Selena shared a TikTok of the duo having fun together that same month.
Meanwhile, Selena and Taylor became friends in 2008 when they were both dating one of the Jonas Brothers.
Swift also recently congratulated Gomez on the premiere of her Apple TV+ documentary, writing on Instagram: ‘So proud of you @selenagomez Love you forever.’
