This is the sᴄᴇɴᴇ in Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ where stampeding water buffalo trample a lioness to ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ before throwing her body around. The large cat became separated from the rest of her pride and was captured in the Kruger National Park among a herd of large buffaloes beside a watering hole.
The buffaloes began assaulting the lioness with their horns in front of 28-year-old Danica Roux and her family as their survival instincts took over. Dust is being flung into the air as the animal’s trample the lioness off camera before she suddenly appears, pulled up by a buffalo’s horns as she attempts to get on its back
However, she is knocked to the ground and vanishes from view once more as ominous dust swirls and buffaloes can be seen acting agitatedly nearby. The lioness is then reencountered, her lifeless body being tossed around by the buffaloes like a rag doll. They were about to depart when they heard some activity off to the side of the herd, according to Ms. Roux.
Lions generally pursue their prey in packs, including water buffalo, zebra, and antelope. It’s unclear how the lion became entangled with the herd. Instead of charging into a crowd as this lion did, lions typically try to pick off weak prey.
