Dwayne Johnson’s request was once not given interest
The 10-time WWE champion asked Emily Blunt to star in the 2021 movie Jungle Cruise. And he was royally ignored by her at first. The duo revealed this in a previous interaction with Daily Local News. Johnson said, “When the script came to me, I loved it… {the film} was always for Emily Blunt. It was always Emily Blunt, that is the truth. She knows it … I sent this video”.
I was like, “Okay let me make this video for Emily just telling her what a big fan I am and I would love for her to come onto the movie.” The interviewer asked what was her response. Johnson replied, “Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Ghosted me!” The 40-year-old actress also provided a response as to why she did not answer back quickly. She said, “It’s almost like when someone comes at you with too much enthusiasm you have to shut them down a little bit!”
Having dominated the industry for a considerable amount of time, it would have been new for Johnson to be ignored this way. As one would expect that he will be getting his wishes granted easily. Apart from that setback, The Brahma Bull and Blunt have been great friends since. And Johnson even called Blunt ‘Mommy’ for her apparent actions once.
It was great for everyone involved that Blunt took up the role. Jungle Cruise performed well at the box office. The Disney-produced movie also starred Jesse Plemons and Jack Whitehall.
Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt to star in a movie again?
Both Johnson and the British actress are expected to star together in a movie again. The two are speculated to be starring in a movie about the adventures of detective Kate Warne. She was the first US woman ever to become a detective.
Blunt is earmarked to play Warne’s role and The Great One is also speculated to be a part of the project. It would be a treat for the fans of the on-screen couple to watch them together again.
It has to be said that Dwayne Johnson was right when he said that the Jungle Cruise role was meant for Emily Blunt. Their chemistry was off the charts and was loved all over. Blunt might have initially ghosted Johnson, but she finally came on the same page. And in the process, apart from a co-star, Johnson also gained a lifelong friend.
