LeBron James, the standout player for the Los Angeles Lakers, is still regarded as one of the NBA’s best players at the age of 38, and he has had an outstanding career. Some people even rank him as the best player to ever play the game.
Though typically, we see LeBron James compared to other basketball players, he is also one of the most accomplished players in American sports overall as well. Recently, actor Michael B. Jordan explained why he views James as the GOAT athlete.

“I’m thinking across all sports, imma say LeBron James”, said Jordan when asked about who the GOAT athlete is. “Been greater for longer… who could have played multiple sports. Could have gone pro.”
There’s no doubt that these are valid points. LeBron James’ longevity in basketball is absolutely unprecedented. James was also a highly-touted NFL recruit in high school, and the superstar has compared his football playing style to legendary receiver Randy Moss in the past.
LeBron James has averaged 29.5 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 6.9 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers prior to going down with a foot injury. It has previously been revealed that the superstar may end up missing more than the next three weeks, and the hope is likely that James is back for the playoffs.
The Lakers Have Already Started Preparing For The Possibility LeBron James Won’t Return In The Regular Season
Though it is still possible that LeBron James can return a few games prior to the play-in tournament or the playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers are seemingly expecting him to come back for the postseason rather than in the regular season.
“The Lakers right now, they’re preparing for the possibility that they’ll have to make their postseason run without LeBron James for the rest of the regular season,” said Adrian Wojnarowski.
Anthony Davis has been playing at an extremely high level without LeBron James, and this roster has shown resiliency without their superstar. Hopefully, they can continue to stay afloat for the next few weeks and ensure that they get as high of a seed as possible.
LeBron James is the key to the Los Angeles Lakers being able to make a deep run in the playoffs this year, and it is hard for the team to replace his impact. However, they can definitely survive without him, and that is all they’ll need to do if LeBron James comes back for the playoffs.
