Without a question, the Los Angeles Lakers’ star LeBron James is a vital part of the team and has been doing most of the offensive work for them this season.
Previously, we saw LeBron James sustain a foot injury that has kept him out for the last few weeks. Luckily, he avoided surgery on the foot. Recently, Darvin Ham provided a positive injury update on LeBron James, claiming that “everything is going according to plan”.

There is no doubt that this is a good update to hear, and hopefully, LeBron James comes back sooner rather than later. However, it makes sense to be as cautious as possible, as LeBron James is the key to the Los Angeles Lakers making a deep run this postseason.
LeBron James put up 29.5 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 6.9 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers this year, and he notably became the all-time leading scorer this season. There is no doubt that LeBron James is still one of the premier players in the game, and it would be amazing to see him lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a few series victories this year.
Anthony Davis Wants LeBron James To Take His Time With His Injury
The objective for the Los Angeles Lakers this season is to have a healthy and fresh LeBron James for the playoffs. That may require him to continue rehabbing and missing time. However, the team seems on board with that. In fact, Anthony Davis has already mentioned that he doesn’t want James to come back before he’s fully healed.
“What I don’t want is him to rush back really early, and it’s still bothering him,” Davis said. “And now he can’t be himself… I want him to get completely right and healthy before he steps on the floor. It’s on us other guys in the locker room to step up and continue to win basketball games.”
There is no reason for LeBron James to rush back and potentially risk a worse injury. The Lakers have the talent to withstand his absence and allow him to get the much-needed recovery and rest prior to the playoffs.
The Los Angeles Lakers will need Anthony Davis to continue to step up and hold down the fort until LeBron James returns. He has led them to wins in four of their last five games prior to facing the Knicks, and hopefully, that can continue.
