The name “X Æ A-12 Musk” that the billionaire Tesla owner named his newborn baby is making the online community scratch their heads and find an explanation.

To date, the CEO of Tesla has not explained more about the strange name he gave to his 6th son.

Across online forums around the world, from Facebook, Twitter to Reddit to Weibo, people are trying to decipher the meaning and reading of the string of characters “X Æ A-12”.

In the judgment of many, the string of characters that Musk said is a puzzle or equation, used with real names. Some Chinese netizens believe that the phrase is a combination of the language of the “goblin” (Æ) and the name of the CIA spy plane (A-12).

Someone explained, Æ is pronounced “ash”, A-12 is the name of the plane, this project was once called Archangel. So, Elon Musk’s newborn son could be “X Ash Archangel Musk”. This assumption is widely accepted.

Some netizens said, “X” represents “unknown element”. Others explained, the character “Æ” is the spelling of the word “AI” – artificial intelligence . “Æ” is also translated as “love” in some languages, such as Japanese.

On Twitter, the child’s mother, singer Grimes, hypothesized: X stands for “unknown variable”, Æ stands for Grimes, spelled “Ai”. A-12 is the name of the plane. According to the singer, this string of characters is also a reference to the zodiac of the East, in which this year is the year of the Rat – the golden rat.

Business Insider does not support Grimes’ interpretation because the character Æ, which is read as “ash”, cannot be spelled “Ai”. On the other hand, the baby’s parents are living in California, where numeric names are not allowed, names can only consist of 26 letters of the English alphabet .

Therefore, if X is pronounced “ecks’, Æ is pronounced “ash” or “Ai” and A-12 indicates the Archangel plane, then the baby “X Æ A-12” will likely be officially named “Ecks Ai Archangel”.
