On March 27, Jimin made an appearance on BTS’ YouTube channel ‘Bangtan TV’ talk show ‘Suchwita (Time to Drink with SUGA),’ where he was interviewed by SUGA.
During the interview, Jimin expressed his admiration for ‘Suchwita,’ stating that he enjoyed it more than he initially anticipated. The two BTS members were able to talk heart-to-heart in a comfortable environment and opened up about various things, such as music. The conversation touched on Jimin’s first solo album ‘FACE’ and the process by which he came to produce the album.
Jimin confessed that the album took 10 months to produce, and the process was filled with trial and error. He described the experience as heavy and challenging, with emotions that made him feel vulnerable. Jimin shared that this is the album that truly encompasses his emotions as an artist and captures the story he wants to share with fans.
SUGA responded with praise, assuring Jimin that the album sounded terrific based on the title track he had listened to and that Jimin had nothing to be anxious about. He did not shy away from giving Jimin praise as he shared that this album is the album that truly portrays Jimin’s growth.
SUGA praised Jimin as a genuinely amazing ingenious individual who puts in immense effort on top of his talent. Jimin humbly responded by saying, “I know what I am lacking, and I appreciate that people like what I do. I’m not saying all my hard work so far was for nothing but it’s better to know the right way to do things before putting in that effort. It took me a while but I think I’m finally practicing the way I should. I didn’t do the basic things. I was always in a rush.”
Lastly, Jimin confessed that he became ambitious to join BTS because SUGA encouraged him to be part of the team. Jimin confessed, “When I first joined the agency as a trainee, I didn’t have the ambition to be part of the team because I didn’t think it was my team. but it was because of you. You said ‘you’re a good singer so I really want you to be on our team.'” SUGA recalled that day and shared, “I felt that you could become a singer with a unique voice if you found your own tone and color. I already knew, so that’s why I said that.”
