NBA fans, especially the Phoenix Suns supporters, were ecstatic after news of Kevin Durant returning to play against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday did the rounds.
The 13-time All-Star went down with an ankle sprain ahead of the team’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 8 and has been sidelined since. Now, the forward is all set to take the floor in his home court.
For some fans, this meant the long-awaited LeBron James vs. Durant matchup would materialize soon.

A fervent request to beat the Wolves was in order.
Some just joined in, in welcoming Durant back.
Earlier, Phoenix and the veteran were hopeful that he would return in two weeks. While the Suns are placed fourth in the West with a 40-35 record, they have been 4-6 in his absence.
Durant made his debut for the Suns on March 1 after being traded from the Brooklyn Nets. In his three outings with the side, the 34-year-old averages 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
The Phoenix Suns Will Now Look To Go The Distance
With Durant back in the fold, the Suns will now be optimistic that they can go the distance. They are playoff bound, and a healthy version of the star will surely propel them through the postseason rounds.
Earlier, analyst Stephen A. Smith believed that the Suns and Durant could make the NBA Finals this season. Speaking on First Take, he believed health would be a key factor and a healthy Phoenix side would make the Finals.
“I got [the Phoenix Suns] going to the Finals if KD is healthy,” Smith said. “If Kevin Durant is healthy, I believe he’s the best on the planet, and I believe in Kevin Durant, one of the most efficient offensive superstars this game has ever seen. I know what I see in Devin Booker. And I believe if Kevin Durant gets healthy, the Phoenix Suns are going to the NBA Finals. That’s how much I believe in Kevin Durant.”
Clearly, Durant’s foray into the West has changed the balance of power, and a title this season will surely mark the beginning of a dynasty.
