He said: ‘The cheetah in the image is called Imani who has three young adult cubs who had all tried their hand at hunting for a full day, but they failed.
‘I had waited for two or more hours in anticipation for Imani to emerge from the bush where she had gone into hiding.
‘The whole sequence happened so fast, the cheetah was right behind the impala and they came charging straight at us.
‘It was nerve cracking as I positioned and started to take the pictures.
‘The action was over in a flat ten seconds and my hands shook as I tried to check if I had got the sequence right. Imani had made the kill right next to my jeep.’
