HARLEY QUINN is the UK and US top Halloween costume but Suicide Squad’s Margot Robbie has said she won’t wear the famous hot pants in the sequel after abusive “Whorely Quinn” accusations from fans
The Aussie actress turned heads in the latest DC Comics big screen adaptation. Her psychotic villain shamelessly stole scenes and even upstaged Jared Leto’s Joker but some fans attacked Robbie’s portrayal of the iconic character for being in bad taste.
Are those shorts really too short and that top too tight, or is it all just a storm in a C-cup?
Either way, Harley Quinn has beaten the major superheroes to top the lists of Halloween costumes in the UK and US, as well as the more dubious honour of being the most searched film character on international porn sites.
This Halloween, Holly Willoghby dressed as Harley Quinn on Celebrity Juice and a horde of sexy lookalikes invaded famous landmarks across London.
Over the Halloween weekend, the UK will be swarming with sexily psychotic ladies (and some gents) in tiny pants waving baseball bats and popping gum (but hopefully not smashing shop windows like the character).

So why is Robbie threatening to ditch the iconic costume?

Harley Quinn is the top Halloween costume
“She’s wearing hot pants because they’re sparkly and fun,” Robbie says, answering a flood of criticism.
The Aussie beauty absolutely refutes the idea that her character is dressing provocatively. She doesn’t do it because she wants “guys to look at her ass,” she says
It’s the latest X-rated drama to hit the film set after Jared Leto revealed that he sent used condoms and anal beads to his fellow cast members.
Apparently, it was the actor’s way of remaining in character as The Joker as keeping everyone else off balance. David Ayer similarly explained Harley Quinn’s looks as being true to the source material.
The director said: “I didn’t think denim overalls would be appropriate for that character.”
Fans have been divided over the character’s look, with some repeatedly and rather rudely referring to her as ‘Whorely’ rather than ‘Harley’ Quinn. Robbie, herself, has revealed that she is not always comfortable with the overly sexualised look.

Robbie says she “won’t wear hot pants in the sequel”
Robbie told the New York Times: “As Margot, no, I don’t like wearing that. I’m eating burgers at lunchtime, and then you go do a scene where you’re hosed down and soaking wet in a white T-shirt. It’s so clingy and you’re self-conscious about it.”
She also joking teased that if there was a sequel, there would be some changes.
The actress said: “I’m not wearing hot pants next time.”
Not everyone is so critical of the new look, with many fans happily posting even sexier fan art of the character as well as pictures of themselves dressed up for Cos Play events.
Others have also pointed out that the main star of the film seems to have no problem flashing his flesh in promo pictures.
“Why isn’t anyone complaining that Jared Leto’s Joker dresses too sexy?” quipped one comic book fan.
“I mean look at those abs.”
Suicide Squad – Blitz Trailer – Official Warner Bros. UK
In the original comics, Harley Quinn is known for being passionately and insanely connected to The Joker and also dresses extremely provocatively.
The new film will explore her tortured (quite literally) relationship with Jared Leto’s villain, and early on-set pictures showed Leto kissing and then hitting Robbie.
Suicide Squad also stars Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, Scott Eastwood. and follows on from the events in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
