Darwin Nunez’s girlfriend lets Liverpool fans down with an adult joke

Darwin Nunez’s partner made an X-rated joke on a recent Instagram post of the Liverpool forward after the pair enjoyed a night out.

The Uruguayan striker has become something of a favourite among the Liverpool faithful following his big-money move from Benfica in the summer.

However, he has not quite been able to deliver the numbers expected of the new £85million signing, scoring just 14 in 35 appearances for the Reds in 2022-23, although at 22 he still has plenty of time to develop.

The forward joined Liverpool for £85million in the summer

But judging from the reaction of Liverpool fans to the social media snap he has already enamoured himself to the Anfield support, with his work-rate for his new side often coming in for praise, despite the club’s poor season.

His partner, Lorena Manas, posted a picture of Nunez eating sushi with the caption: ‘The two things I like to eat the most’ in Spanish.

Nunez has struggled at times this season with only 14 goals but has become something of a fan favourite

A number of supporters took to Twitter to state their shock and surprise at her comment, although many saw the funny side, replying with laughing emojis and memes.

One in particular simply wrote: ‘Lmao’ in reaction to seeing the caption.

Another, clearly a fan of Nunez, added: ‘She’s living my dream.’

And a third wrote: ‘My response would be similar.’

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently languishing in eighth place in the Premier League, behind Unai emery’s Aston Villa who are making a surprise charge for European qualification.

Liverpool’s season has been characterised by inconsistency and erratic form, having been one of Europe’s most potent forces in recent years.

The Reds have won just two of their last eight games, and have been knocked out of the Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup, with the league being the last competition at stake.

The caption by Lorena Manas left many Liverpool fans on Twitter in stitches

The next five games are set to be crucial in the club’s prospects this term, with a visit from Premier League leaders Arsenal first up on Sunday.

That clash is followed by meetings with relegation-threatened sides Leeds, Nottingham Forest and West Ham, who will all be fighting for every available point in the bid to secure survival for next season.

Manas' post on Instagram left many Reds supporters laughing while some showed their love for their new star

Klopp and Co will then take on a Tottenham side also in the battle to secure Champions League football in 2023-24, although Spurs are yet to appoint a replacement for Antonio Conte.

Liverpool could make history this season with a lowest league finish since 1962, having finished above sixth place in each of their last 60 complete seasons.
