On April 1, The Glory stars Lim Ji Yeon and Lee Do Hyun made headlines by announcing they were in a relationship.
| Dispatch
Lee Do Hyun played the role of Joo Yeo Jeong, the love interest of protagonist Moon Dong Eun (played by Song Hye Kyo). Moon Dong Eun lives her life plotting revenge against her bullying perpetrator from high school, Park Yeon Jin, played by Lim Ji Yeon.
Although their roles in the K-Drama had no romantic connection, the real-life actors did. The two got close while filming and attending group dinners with the cast, and it was known amongst the production team that they were in a relationship.
In an interview with The Glory‘s leading actors, writer, and director, Lim Ji Yeon said something that didn’t mean much before but now means much more after knowing her relationship with Lee Do Hyun.
In The Glory, Lee Do Hyun’s character pursues Song Hye Kyo’s character and tells her they should, but she tells him that she’s not looking for a prince but a headsman who will join her in a sword dance.

After watching this scene, Lee Do Hyun was asked: “Did Joo Yeo Jeong get rejected?” Lee Do Hyun defended his role by stating he was not completely rejected:
No, not yet! When I told her we should date, she only laughed. And she said she needed a headsman, she didn’t say no.

To this, Song Hye Kyo didn’t say anything and simply laughed.

On the other hand, Lim Ji Yeon made a straightforward remark that splits the Dong Eun and Yeo Jeong couple apart.
That’s pretty much rejection.
Lee Do Hyun had an optimistic view of this situation for his character, but his girlfriend in real life drew a line and claimed it was rejection, and fellow actress Yeom Hye Ran agreed with Lim Ji Yeon.
Lee Do Hyun then laughed and stated his cluelessness about this sort of stuff.
I don’t really know much about that kind of stuff. I guess I was rejected.
Knowing the two actors are in a relationship, it’s different looking back and seeing Lim Ji Yeon, Lee Do Hyun, and Song Hye Kyo’s reactions—who all knew the two were dating. Lim Ji Yeon and Lee Do Hyun are most likely very close and comfortable with one another, which is why the actress was able to make a jokingly straightforward comment like that!
