Hollywood icon Margot Robbie was forced to sew her own dress back together after a rather racy wardrobe malfunction at the Academy Awards back in 2018, when her dress snapped
Margot Robbie was left red-faced after suffering a rather racy wardrobe malfunction at the Oscars.
Back in 2018, the Wold of Wall Street Star was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role after starring in I, Tonya.
But the ceremony didn’t quite go to plan, as her stunning Chanel gown snapped as soon as Margot entered the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Looking breathtaking as ever during the star-studded ceremony, Margot donned a Chanel Haute Couture gown featuring beaded off-the-shoulder straps that fell down over her bust.

The white gown fell all the way to the floor, ending in a short train complete with a partially sheer underskirt.
Clutching a see-through silver bag emblazoned with gems, Margot let her cropped blonde hair flow free around her face, upping the ante with her glam make-up look.
She applied a dusting of silver shadow to her lids and a swipe of pink gloss to her lips as she smiled for the cameras on the red carpet – but it wasn’t to last.
When she headed inside, one of her dress straps snapped loose – and Margot didn’t have time to await a seamstress or stylist.

Instead, she asked for a sewing kit and mended the dress by her own hand.
She confessed: “Oh, ain’t got time for that!” when asked why she was repairing her own gown. And it turns out Margot is quite the seamstress, too, as she managed to make the repairs without further incident.
It comes after the revelation that Margot’s nude scenes almost ruined her career in Hollywood.
The actress, who stripped off for a sex scene alongside Leonardo Di Caprio in Wold of Wall Street, was nearly cast aside for Mary Queen of Scots due to her saucy scenes.

The film’s director Josie Rourke confessed that the film crew were unable to imagine Margot as Elizabeth I for the film due to her sex appeal.
But after donning her auburn curled wig and Elizabethan frock, Josie revealed she had to argue to cast Robbie as the monarch.
She confessed at the Power of Film symposium: “In their heads she was probably lodged more as a sex symbol figure than she was as Elizabeth I. But I made the argument for it.”
