Former Newcastle United midfielder Darren Ambrose has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is better than Man City striker Erling Haaland and Manchester United striker Rashford.
Kane, 29, has been one of the best strikers in the world since joining Spurs’ first team for the 2013-14 season. He has scored 268 goals and made 63 assists in 421 appearances for his club.
Meanwhile, Haaland has emerged as a force to be reckoned with after joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund this season. He has scored 33 goals in 33 games for Man City in all competitions. On the other hand, Rashford is in fine form having scored 25 goals in his 39 matches and has been crucial to United’s progress this campaign.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Ambrose thinks Kane is a better striker than Haaland or Rashford thanks to his all-round play. He said: “I was asked who would you choose right now, Haaland, Rashford or Kane? I may be a bit biased as a Spurs supporter but I still choose Kane as the best striker.

I think of a true football player and Kane is the best of those three. Kane’s goals are incredible, his assists, his all-round play is remarkable.”
Kane has a contract until June 2024 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having been in fine form during the ongoing 2022-2023 campaign. He has scored 20 goals and 4 assists in 35 matches in all competitions.
With Kane in the final 16 months of his contract, he is said to be guaranteed a move to an elite club in search of trophies. Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been linked with a summer transfer.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Manchester United legend Gary Neville shared his thoughts on Harry Kane’s potential future destinations. He said: “Harry Kane is a fantastic player. He is a professional footballer and I think if he could leave now he would go to a club in Manchester, maybe United or City.
I think being in one of the two big Manchester clubs will give Kane many opportunities to hunt for titles. Most likely Kane cannot go to Man City because Pep has got Erling Haaland and what they have is very good, but Manchester United desperately need a striker.
Excluding Chelsea and Arsenal as potential pursuits, Neville added: “Chelsea? I don’t think Kane will go there. He’s loyal to Tottenham and has great rivalry with Chelsea. So I’m going with him. don’t see that happening, although they need a centre-forward. Kane will not be going to Arsenal for the same reason, so only Manchester United is the only option available in England for him this summer.”
Kane has scored 201 Premier League goals and is third on the all-time Premier League goalscorers list behind Alan Shearer (260) and Wayne Rooney (208).
