Despite his worldwide fame as a renowned mixed martial artist, Conor McGregor didn’t take any chances with his safety during his Rome holiday on Wednesday. The Irish sports star was flanked by four heavily-built bodyguards to ensure his protection.
Stepping out with his fiancée Dee Devlin, Conor even enlisted one staff member to carry his Aperol Spritz for him – as he made his way down the Spanish Steps.
The four protection officers were dressed in matching smart navy suits as they walked either side of the couple who were taking a stroll around the Italian city before heading to Dolce and Gabbana for a shopping spree.

Conor made headlines last month after he had a heated altercation with Machine Gun Kelly at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The rapper reportedly asked for his security to be ‘ramped up’ after the fighter appeared to throw a punch at him at the awards ceremony.
The MMA fighter branded the musician a ‘little vanilla boy rapper’ after they were squared up on the red carpet with their respective partners by their sides just before the start of the show.
Family: Conor and Dee have been together since 2008 and share three children
According to Metro.co.uk, Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, did not want to meet Conor because he is not a fan of some of his previous comments, which weren’t specified.
A source said: ‘Machine Gun Kelly isn’t a fan of some things Conor has said and done in the past so thought it was a bad look to be photographed with him.
‘It’s the VMAs so part of the reason you go is to mix with other celebs but some of Conor’s comments on sensitive issues have never sat right with him.’
The insider that Kelly ‘told organizers to make sure their paths never crossed after the fall out’.
MailOnline has contacted representatives of Machine Gun Kelly for comment.
Kelly’s girlfriend Megan Fox was among the people who stepped in between the two would-be fighters, and then wrapped her arms around him as the couple were led off past the growing crowd that had gathered.
McGregor later brushed off the scuffle, telling a reporter nothing happened because he only spars with ‘real fighters’, and only knows who the musician is because he is dating Fox.

He told Entertainment Tonight: ‘Absolutely nothing happened. I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy.
‘Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean? I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.’
Conor’s rep also said he does not know who Kelly is and insisted that his client was not the one to start the scuffle.
