The secret life of cats! Felines shoot to internet fame as cameras attached to their collars show them clashing with rivals, meeting their crushes and chasing potential prey
A couple of cute kitties have a shot to internet stardom after their owners placed collar cameras around their necks and captured what is essentially the secret life of cats.
Gonzo, who lives in Los Angeles, is a cat who has 180,000 followers on Instagram and 607,000 on TikTok with his owner having already posted more than 600 videos.
All appear to capture life thru a lens as Gonzo wonders around the back yards of his home.
We see him interacting with potential mates and purring to himself when he finds items of interest such as leaves or pieces of plastic.
His owners, Gonzo’s owners, Derek and Maria Boonstra, initially placed a spy camera onto a breakaway collar in order for them to monitor what their pet got up to when he went outside and immersed himself in the local fauna.
But it came back with fascinating footage, which has since been placed on social media for all to enjoy. His Instagram account describes the footage as ‘life through the lens of a large loveable loaf.’
In one recent video Gonzo meets his crush, another cat that he spies at the end of the driveway. The pair walk past one another with the cameras picking up a catty look from his feline fancy.
In another clip, a cat fight breaks out with one hissing back loudly at Gonzo who wants to have control over his backyard.
The rise of wearable camera technology has led to a very particular style of cat content, as avid viewers watch their feline stars leap and scamper about.
Another cat known as Mr Kitters has even more fans online that Gonzo with 1 million users on Instagram and 1.5 million followers on TikTok all following the friendly feline.
As with Gonzo, Mr Kitters also has a high definition, spy camera placed around his collar, enabling him to capture firsthand footage as he meows at birds or chases squirrels around.
