A woman gave birth to three absolutely identical babies – this happens once in a million.
26-year-old British Katie Crow, being the mother of a beautiful son, could not imagine that the second pregnancy would bring her three babies at once.
The young woman learned of this ᴍᴀssɪᴠᴇ ʀᴇᴘʟᴇɴɪsʜᴍᴇɴᴛ during a screening at 12 weeks pregnant.
“Take a deep breath… I see three hearts,” the doctor stunned.
To say Kathy was sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ is an understatement. She became pregnant naturally, and there were no ᴘʀᴇʀᴇǫᴜɪsɪᴛᴇs for multiple pregnancy.
But then, Katie did not yet know how unique her case was. Typically, two ᴇɢɢs are ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴢᴇᴅ during triplets. One of the ᴇɢɢs splits, forming two ᴇᴍʙʀʏᴏs. As a result, two twins and one not quite similar baby are born.
But Katie’s three babies were identical, so they were born exact copies of each other. This happens only once in 200 million births.
With multiple pregnancies, delivery is considered normal at 32 weeks. Katie gave birth on the 30th. The ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴs began, and the doctors performed an ᴇᴍᴇʀɢᴇɴᴄʏ ᴄᴀᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ. Oᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ was successfully completed. Katie gave birth to three boys. Joshua and Eddie weighed 1.4 kg, and baby Tommy weighed 1.2 kg.
The babies turned out to be so similar that Katie and her husband, Rob, had to temporarily leave hospital name tags on the little ones’ arms. Parents simply did not distinguish between their children.
The twins are now three months old. They have grown stronger and are already giving their parents their first smiles.
“I am the happiest woman on earth,” says the mother of many children. But once, having learned about the triplets, she cried with fear:
“At once, so many thoughts and experiences fell on us. We cannot afford a big car or a bigger house. But then my grandmother said, “Everything in life happens for a reason.” Now my children are here, next to me, and I feel like I am in a huge bubble of happiness.”
After learning about the big addition to the family of Katy and Rob, the neighbors anonymously left gifts on their doorstep: packs of diapers and other baby items. Such a touching gesture towards a large family.
