Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be furious with David Moyes if West Ham rumours are true ahead of the crucial Man City clash.
Wednesday night’s clash between Manchester City and West Ham is huge for both clubs.
But it is arguably even bigger for West Ham’s London rivals Arsenal.
West Ham are now on the brink of Premier League survival. But one win or even a draw will put the seal on that for certain.
Arsenal have piled the pressure on Man City for the West Ham clash by beating Chelsea 3-1.
Most fans and pundits are not giving West Ham a prayer at the Etihad. But Arsenal will certainly be praying for a favour from the Hammers.
West Ham put a big dent in Arsenal’s title bid by rallying to a 2-2 draw in their game at the London Stadium recently.
Moyes Arsenal lesson from last year could come back to haunt the Gunners
After Man City, West Ham welcome Man United to the London Stadium in the Premier League. The Red Devils have been out of sorts of late. So that is being viewed as a much more winnable match.
Then AZ Alkmaar come to town for the first leg of West Ham’s huge Europa Conference League semi-final.
Last season, with a Europa League semi-final looming large for the Hammers, David Moyes went full strength in a league game against Arsenal.
West Ham ended up losing that match and the European semi-final with the Scot criticised for failing to rest key players.
Now Moyes may have learned a big lesson from that situation and – almost a year to the day – it could come back to haunt the Gunners.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be furious with Moyes if West Ham rumours are true ahead of the crucial Man City clash.
Talk from sources in West Ham circles is that Arteta’s old mentor Moyes will rest several star West Ham players against Man City.
That includes resting reported Arsenal target and West Ham’s talisman Declan Rice.
If Moyes does indeed do that, some will understandably see it as effectively “tanking” the match.
That will infuriate Arsenal after they reclaimed their place at the top of the table from Man City overnight.

Pep Guardiola’s side were given a tough test by Fulham at the weekend.
But if a full strength West Ham would struggle against Man City, one can only imagine how a second string might fare.
Should Moyes make those rumoured wholesale changes – with as many as eight mooted by us at Hammers News ahead of the game – Arsenal will feel aggrieved.
However the Hammers can only afford to worry about themselves right now.
With Saints all but down, West Ham have what is effectively – thanks for a superior goal difference – a five and six point gap to the two remaining relegation spots.
So all eyes are on crucial clashes with Man United, Alkmaar, Brentford and Leeds over the next fortnight.
Oh to be a fly on the wall in Arteta’s house should his former boss Moyes make sweeping changes and be well beaten by Man City.
