ESPN are right now reporting a rather interesting story.

Julien Laurens is well connected in Paris, and his PSG insider scoop today is that the club are considering selling Neymar. The Brazilian is “ready to go” despite having 4 years left on his contract.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is named in the story as a “big fan” of the Brazilian in the story, and Chelsea are listed as one of his potential destinations.

We can’t see how it works, financially however. We’re out of the Champions League and Boehly has spent so much on other players in the last 12 months that he can’t be considering the £100m+ fee it would cost to get the Brazil star to Chelsea.

If we sell off a slew of first team players at the start of the summer for a similar figure, it becomes a possibility. But without Champions League football, we’re a tough sell.
