Disney announced during an event with advertisers on Tuesday that Hulu’s hit reality show The Kardashians has been renewed for another 20 episodes.
News of the renewal was announced at Disney’s upfront presentation for advertisers shortly before the premiere of season three of the show, which is set to debut on Hulu on May 25.
The logline for the upcoming season reads: ‘The cameras return as Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner invite viewers back into their lives as they navigate motherhood, co-parenting, and building their own empires.
‘Their bond will be tested and tensions arise, but as a family they will stand together through the storm.’
The season one premiere of ‘The Kardashians’ remains the most-watched premiere in Hulu’s history.
More coming: Disney announced during an event with advertisers on Tuesday that Hulu’s hit reality show The Kardashians featuring Kim Kardashian, shown in a season one still, has been renewed for another 20 episodes
Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Kris all serve as executive producers on the show.
Hulu before the series premiered greenlit The Kardashians for 40 episodes and the first three seasons of The Kardashians have had 10 episodes each. The new 20-episode order means The Kardashians will stay on Hulu through season six.
The upcoming third season picks up last summer before Kim’s split with Pete Davidson and preview footage has shown Kim, 42, and Kourtney, 44, squabbling over their fashion deals with Dolce & Gabbana.
Meanwhile, Kris, 67, previously described reality TV as an ‘amazing platform’.
The family matriarch explained that ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ – the family’s reality series that aired on E! for 20 seasons – gave them the opportunity to launch their other business ventures.
Kris told Variety: ‘I realised really quickly that we had something, and it was very special.
‘Once we knew it was a hit, that’s when you put on a more creative hat and you start to think, ‘Oh, I see where this might be going. Maybe we should do something a little more outside the box and use this show as an amazing platform.’ And that’s what we did.’
Kris also revealed that her family were offered a very good deal to make the switch to Hulu.
Executive producers: Khloe, shown in a season on still, also is an executive producer of The Kardashians along with her mother Kris and sisters Kim and Kourtney
Top model: Kendall Jenner also regularly appears on The Kardashians and is shown in a season one still
Cameras rolling: The Kardashians, shown in season one, with the new 20-episode order will be on Hulu through six seasons
Asked about the family’s decision to change networks, she explained: ‘Well, money always matters. I think that anybody would be foolish to say that money doesn’t matter anymore.’
Kris has been in a relationship with Corey Gamble, 42, since 2014 after previously being married to Bruce Jenner, 73, who came out as transgender in 2015 and took the name Caitlyn.
Kim has been married three times to Damon Thomas, Kris Humphries and Kanye West and has four children.
Khloe was in a relationship with Tristan Thompson from 2016 to 2021 and has two children with him after previously being married to Lamar Odom.
Kourtney married Travis Barker, 47, in 2022 and has three children with her ex Scott Disick, 39.
