The striker scored the winning goal against Strasbourg
Paris Saint-Germain visit second-placed Lens next, who are seven points adrift in second place. As usual, they will look to Kylian Mbappe to get the three points.
The PSG attacker was decisive against Strasbourg with a last-minute penalty. Without Leo Messi and Neymar, the star on which all the weight of PSG’s attack rests is none other than Mbappe.
But the truth is that Mbappe could have been absent from these PSG games, because he had leave after playing in the World Cup final. Yet he did not want to, and instead did everything possible to return early.
PSG coach Christophe Galtier spoke about Mbappe’s attitude and how he has handled his World Cup defeat to Argentina.
“I understood his statement correctly, that it will take time for him to digest not winning. It’s obvious, like the other players,” he said.
“The fact that he came back quickly and showed such a desire to win shows a certain state of mind, a mentality of a champion of the highest level.”
The PSG coach’s praise did not stop there, adding that “in training he’s all over the place, smiling. How lucky we are to have a player like him”.
