Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:55pm, December 31, 2022) that Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is a “nightmare” to play against.
The former Manchester United defender made the comments about Nunez after watching him in action for Liverpool against Leicester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Friday evening.
The Sky Sports pundit was impressed by the £140,000-a-week (The Guardian) Uruguay international striker, just as he has been in previous matches.
GARY NEVILLE ON LIVERPOOL STRIKER DARWIN NUNEZ
Neville said about Nunez: “What I have seen and what I have seen in the previous matches, I would not want to play against him.
“That is a nightmare to play from what you have just seen tonight. Those Leicester defenders would not want to play against him every week.”
In our opinion, Darwin Nunez was very impressive for Liverpool against Leicester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Friday evening.
Yes, the striker could not score, but the Uruguay international striker created chances and his pace was frightening.
Nunez created a wonderful chance for Liverpool teammate and Egypt international forward Mohamed Salah in the 24th minute.
The youngster was involved in Liverpool’s second goal in the 45th minute.
The striker’s effort came back off the frame of the Leicester goal, and Wout Faes turned it in for an own goal.
Nunez created another good chance for Salah in the latter stages of the game.
If the 23-year-old improves on his finishing and is able to be more composed in front of goal, then he could become a real menace for any opposition defence.
