For fifty years, Hannetjie van der Westhuizen had hoped to see lions in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, but possibly not this time.
The video shows a lion trying to Bɪᴛᴇ the glass out of the window, rubbing its paws on the window, and using the mirror of their car as a chew toy.
van der Westhuizen said that initially they were both ᴛᴇʀʀɪғɪᴇᴅ and really excited, but as time went on, they came to understand that the lion was only studying a strange object out of curiosity and play.
The curious lion was one of five in a pride known for its interactions with vehicles. On the busiest route in Kruger National Park, the meeting took place. There are many lions on the S100 since it is an open route with wide-open ɢʀᴀsslands that draws a lot of prey.
They were eventually forced to leave the amazing sᴄᴇɴᴇ as the curious lion began acting in a certain way. Van der Westhuizen said that the lion was gnawing on the tires, and he felt those sharp teeth may ᴅᴀᴍᴀɢᴇ them, so they decided to move.
Visitors are permitted to drive with their windows open in Kruger National Park because you can hear the sounds of the bush. But officials also advise keeping the windows ᴄʟᴏsᴇd when lions are near the road – for this very reason.
