Anne Hathaway’s style prowess isn’t going unnoticed at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
While attending a photo-call for Armageddon Time, the James Gray–helmed period drama that also stars Jeremy Strong and Anthony Hopkins, Hathaway dressed like a total vixen in a black-and-blue minidress.
Though the skirt sparkled with inky black sequins, the bustier of the dress was the centerpiece, featuring an electric blue patent leather cone-shaped bra and straps. The Gucci creation looked like something pulled from the closet of Andy Sachs, the character she made iconic in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada.
She paired the statement piece with Bulgari diamonds and sky-high silver heels adorned with bows.
The day before, Hathaway teamed up with her longtime stylist, Erin Walsh, to wear an ivory white Armani Privé gown for her first-ever red-carpet appearance at the prestigious film festival.
The strapless column dress had sequins all over and included a dramatic bow train at the back. She topped off the look with Bulgari’s Mediterranean Reverie necklace, which featured 107,15 carats of royal blue cushion-cut sapphire.
“You hire Erin Walsh and you trust her,” Hathaway said of her relationship with her stylist in an interview with People. “You know, I’ve never been to Cannes, and I’ve been watching the fashion of the film festival unfold for a couple decades now. And I’ve noticed certain things you can never go wrong with.”
She continued, “You never go wrong with a little sparkle. You never go wrong with something that looks chic and glamorous, but feels very, very comfortable. And I noticed that a lot of my favorite actresses had their first-hand experience wearing all white.”
