Anne Hathaway made a stylish series of appearances at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where she was promoting her new film, Armageddon Time. From daywear to dinners, photocalls and premieres, the actress didn’t put a foot wrong when it came to pulling together the perfect Riviera wardrobe – created in partnership with her stylist, Erin Walsh.
But while her glamorous eveningwear and red-carpet looks were some of her best ever (more on those later), it was her daytime ensembles that proved particularly inspiring, with plenty of elegant summer fashion to emulate.
First up, she landed at Nice airport wearing effortless slouchy tailoring, pairing her black suit with a casual white T-shirt, white trainers and sunglasses.

She then added an injection of colour for her first official appearance, stepping out in a floral metallic Schiaparelli two-piece and a bouncing blow-dry.

The actress was seen out on the Croisette during her time in the South of France in several other elegant daywear looks – including this one, in which she also debuted a new footwear collaboration between Dr Barbara Sturm and Aquazzura. She paired her lemon-hued mules with cropped jeans, a Self-Portrait cardigan and a Bulgari bag while out for a stroll with her husband Adam Shulman.

Hathaway was later seen wearing the footwear again, styling them with wide-leg jeans, a classic white shirt and a crochet bucket hat.

For another appearance, the actress looked to Louis Vuitton, inspiring our workwear wardrobes in a zip-front tweed dress with leather piping. She paired her dress with wide-frame sunglasses, nude court shoes and another Bulgari handbag.

When it came to her more formal appearances, the 39-year-old turned to brands including Gucci, Valentino and Armani Privé.
For the Armageddon Time photocall, she paired a backless Gucci mini dress with silver platform heels, Bulgari jewellery and some statement cat-eye sunnies. The dress featured patent leather cups and straps and a heavily embellished skirt, and was more on the risqué side than many of her other outfits. She finished her look with a beehived half-up, half-down ‘do.

For big red-carpet moments, the actress knows that only couture will do. She wore a glittering Armani Privé gown for the Armageddon Time premiere, which featured an additional satin wrap that cascaded into a train. She added a spectacular one-of-a-kind necklace from Bulgari, which featured a rare 107,15-carat cushion-cut Sri Lankan sapphire, and a matching ring.

And she wasn’t done there. With one more dinner to attend, Hathaway turned to Valentino, wearing one of the popular hot-pink pieces from the brand’s latest collection. She wore an off-the-shoulder jumpsuit with matching platform heels and a complementing soft pink lipstick.
