When Alex Lewis, 34, of Essᴇx learned that his wife Charlotte, 32, was expecting not one, but three children, he was astounded. After spending £8k on IVF, the couple, who had battled to conceive for three years, believed that their baby’s wish would be granted.
However, after being informed that they were expecting triplets, physicians issued a survival-ʀɪsᴋ warning.
The healthiest daughter would have had the highest chance of surviving if two of Charlotte and Alex’s kids had been aborted, but they decided against it.
Lottie Bluebell, Annabella Rose, and Florence Violet, who were identical twins, were also born on April 6. Alex decided to start his “dad’s guide to life with triplets” eight weeks ago, and since then, he has racked up over 14K Instagram followers.
His book, which is displayed in a series of photographs, highlights the highs and lows of life with triplets while also demonstrating how parents of multiples can still have fun.
Our lives are now a military operation because of the triplets’ birth. Alex, a father of four, explained that we have to feed and change all three every four hours.
Although difficult, I wouldn’t trade it for anything; we are really fortunate to have three healthy daughters. Since we had been told repeatedly that they might not all live, we refrained from beginning our shopping spree for triplets.
Charlotte had scans every week to make sure they were all alive, and it was ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ. After the triplets were born, I started an Instagram page for our family’s life with them, and after only a few weeks, I already have over 14,000 followers.
“I share images of our family every day in the hopes of providing a dad’s guide to raising triplets. We still find time to go to Costa every week for coffee, go to the beach, shop, eat out as a family, and even take the children to Center Parcs.
It has been incredible to demonstrate to other parents that it is feasible to travel while raising numerous children rather than having to stay at home.
The three girls were born healthily at 33 weeks and 6 days, and the couple, who already had a son named Henry, was overjoyed.
Three weeks later, Anabella Rose, Florence Violet, and Lottie Bluebell, all of whom weighed 3 pounds, 5 ounces, were allowed to go home.
