A North American black bear was spotted relaxing on his hammock in the last days of summer.
Chuck, a seven-year-old bear who lives in Woburn Safari Park in Bedford, has access to a 13-acre sanctuary that he shares with five other bears and Canadian Timber wolves.
Chuck climbed into the yellow rocking bed and sat back with his eyes closed, completely relaxed.
The enclosure is one of the few carnivorous mixed enclosures in the UK.
Woburn has six bears in all, three females and three males, and all of them live for more than a year.
During the winter months, the bears will hibernate.
Black bears are the most well-known and widespread bear species in North America, and they like to dwell in the woods.
Black bears can be bluish-gray or dark green, brown, cinnamon, or even a rare white, despite their moniker.
