Do you want to sleep with a cheetah? It may sound insane, but some animal lovers are prepared to go to extremes to help animals, no matter how risky it may be. Dolph C. Volker, a wildlife photographer from the United States, is one of them. His love for animals grew even stronger when he cradled his dying dog in his arms and was overcome with grief.
He decided to devote his life to the wellbeing of animals after his dog passed the rainbow bridge. As a result, he began to volunteer at the Cheetah Experience with his vacation days and funds. This sanctuary in South Africa is dedicated to the protection and preservation of the cheetah and other endangered and threatened species. And it was then that he developed a fascination for cheetahs.
Volker was initially apprehensive about being so near to the cheetahs, but they are now best friends. At the refuge, he’s acquired a lot of friends, including Eden, a cheetah. He’s become so close to cheetahs that he’s earned the moniker “The Cheetah Whisperer.”
When Eden approached Wolker while he was napping under a tree, he became acquainted with her. She approached him and stared at him as if they were of the same species. As a result, she chose to cuddle up with this sweet human. Volker even allows Eden nibble, lick, and groom him while they cuddle. That was the start of their incredible, beautiful, and intriguing friendship.
“I didn’t realize cheetahs were so unique. They’ve captured my heart. “It’s a magnificent species that deserves our assistance, care, and protection,” Volker adds. Volker enjoys working with cheetahs, as evidenced by his YouTube page, which is filled with videos of Volker and his cheetah companions.
