Millions of people have been touched by the touching footage of the lion shaking and kissing the dog’s hand. It has received over 60 million views and 1.2 million likes since it was uploaded on YouTube in January 2018. Miki, the white lion, took a step toward Camila, the wagging-tail dog, in the span of 23 seconds. Then, with a soft gesture, he picked up the dog’s right paw and kissed it. Perhaps he was pleading with his best buddy for pardon!
Miki and Camila were both cared for by the Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation (BJWT), a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of big cats and other animals in Mexico.
Miki was rescued in 2016 and nurtured with Camila in the apartment as a typical pet. Miki and Camila had a particular relationship since they had been together since they were babies. “[They] have been together their entire lives, long before we rescued them, and if they aren’t together, they feel quite scared,” the shelter’s employees explained.
While it’s normal for animals bred in captivity to create bonds, the excellent connection between two distinct creatures is pure beauty.
