The ability to speak eloquently during press conferences is a crucial factor in a fighter’s popularity. Conor McGregor is widely regarded as the master of mic skills and many aspiring fighters strive to emulate his charismatic style. During a recent talk show with Timothy Welch, Sean O’Malley admitted that he doesn’t possess the same level of charisma as McGregor when it comes to handling the microphone.
Furthermore, he revealed that he was, in fact, on the path to becoming a better speaker. Although he was reminded that he indeed did well during the conference at Abu Dhabi, O’Malley’s aspiration to dominate the mic remained constant.
Sean O’Malley desires to have Conor McGregor vibe on the mic
The Nelk Boys, Jesse Sebastian and Kyle Forgeard, made an appearance in the recent episode (#225) of the TimboSugarShow. While the four men talked about tons of topics, one of the topics that didn’t escape them was how good ‘The Notorious’ was with the mic. Sebastian asked, “How come no one else has tried to get more like, McGregor style on the mic?”
Adding to the talk, Welch opined that one needed to be really skillful to be able to be ‘mouthy’ on the mic. Immediately after, ‘Sugar’ was reminded that he did an impressive job in Abu Dhabi. However, the fact that his opponents like Petr Yan and Raulian Paiva didn’t speak English got in his way. However, the fighter admitted that Abu Dhabi was a lesson for him.
Moreover, O’Malley revealed that he was waiting for the right question in order to show his funny side. ‘Sugar’ said, “I had some good ideas and it was just a learning lesson. I just, because I was kind of waiting for the right question. But, I need to just f**king grab, get asked a question, ignore it, get on the mic and say something funny, because I was gonna say, uh, I almost want to save it.”
‘Sugar’ desires to be a superstar for the UFC
In a previous episode of ‘The BrO’Malley Show’, O’Malley opined that most of the giants in the promotion were either retired or were in the process of a comeback. Without a doubt, O’Malley revealed his belief that UFC needs a star to bring it back up again. Surprisingly, he believed that he could be the one to lift UFC up again.

‘Sugar’ said, “I’m not saying I’m the best fighter, I’m talking about who’s gonna bring the most eyeballs, who’s gonna give the people that feeling when they walk out? At the weigh-ins, during fight week, and they’re like, ‘Oh, s**t. This fight’s happening.’ It’s me.”
