While she is known for her trademark brunette hair, the 39-year-old Oscar winner underwent the hair transformation to portray an ‘unhappy’ young woman, who takes a job as a secretary at the boys prison.
Her character, from Ottessa Moshfegh’s debut novel, ‘fills her nights and weekends with shoplifting, stalking a buff prison guard named Randy, and cleaning up her alcoholic father’s messes, according to Good Reads.

As she prepared for another long day of filming, the mother-of-two wore a cable knit cardigan, a blue turtleneck, black pants and UGG boots.
The Devil Wears Prada actress also sported a pair of pearl earrings, her hair in glamorous waves and a warm-toned natural makeup look.
Hathaway is currently adhering to a busy work schedule as she promotes her upcoming Apple TV+ show WeCrashed, which comes out in mid-March.

Hathaway stars alongside Jared Leto as they portray Rebekah and Adam Neumann in the series based on the incredible rise and fall of their shared workspace startup WeWork.
Inspired by the podcast WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork, the Apple TV+ series will follow the larger than life story of a charismatic founder who floundered a multi-billion dollar business plan.
WeCrashed will document the ‘greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible,’ according to Variety.
