Chris Hemsworth shares BTS images of his daughter on the sets of the original Thor movie and Love and Thunder, illustrating the time passed.
Chris Hemsworth shares a photo of his daughter on the set of Thor from 11 years ago to her appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder. The MCU has come a long way since its big launch in 2008 with Iron Man when Robert Downey Jr. brought Tony Stark to life. Phase 1 was integral to what Marvel Studios was planning as they intended to create an interconnected universe based on the beloved superheroes. Another core piece to that puzzle was the Thor franchise, with Chris Hemsworth cast as the Asgardian God.
Throughout Phases 1-3, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor were the holy trinity standing as the primary faces of the MCU. However, it all changes with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, as Iron Man made the ultimate sacrifice to stop Thanos and do the Snap. Meanwhile, Steve Rogers ended up passing off his shield and retiring as Captain America, with Sam Wilson now carrying that title. However, Thor is still around, as Hemsworth just reprised the role in his fourth installment, Thor: Love and Thunder.
With Thor back in the MCU, Thor: Love and Thunder had a special Hemsworth family moment. For people who saw Thor: Love and Thunder, they may have recognized a certain young actress who made her MCU debut. Hemsworth’s daughter, India, portrayed Love, Gorr’s (Christian Bale) daughter who served a pivotal role at the end of the film. To celebrate her MCU debut, Hemsworth posted on Instagram a photo of India’s first time on the Thor set 11 years ago as well as one from Thor: Love and Thunder. Check out the photos of Hemsworth and his daughter below.
In Thor: Love and Thunder, the young Hemsworth’s character is introduced at the start of the film as she and her father Gorr are barely surviving walking through a barren desert. In the end, Love ends up passing away, which sets Gorr on the path to become the main antagonist of the story. While Gorr becomes the God Butcher, Thor: Love and Thunder had the villain come around in the 11th hour as he is moved by the love between Thor and Jane. As Jane passed away, Gorr made his wish to Eternity to bring Love back, and he begs Thor to look after her before dying. The film ends with Thor having adopted Love, with the two Hemsworth actors now fittingly playing father and daughter in the MCU.
As sweet as Hemsworth’s post was, India is actually not the only family member to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. His twin sons Sasha and Tristan shared the role of young Thor in flashbacks while Elsa Pataky appeared as a wolf woman who was one of his lovers a long time ago. Given how Thor: Love and Thunder ended, if Thor 5 does get greenlit by Marvel Studios, Love will certainly be back now that she is a huge part of the Asgardian God’s life.
