Conor McGregor shares old sparring video
McGregor recently shared an old video of himself sparring with former boxer Paulie Malignaggi. In the video, Conor is dominating his sparring partner and throwing quick punches. According to McGregor, Paulie ran from the gym after the sparring session. “The worst hiding he ever got, he ran out the gym”, McGregor wrote in his Instagram story.
Paulie Malignaggi held world championships in two weight classes and has an impressive professional boxing record of 36 wins and 8 losses.
Being able to dominate such an accomplished boxer shows the elite level of striking McGregor possesses.
The history between Paulie Malignaggi and Conor McGregor
Malignaggi was training with McGregor when ‘The Notorious’ was scheduled to fight Floyd Mayweather. Being a former boxer himself, Malignaggi was a perfect training partner for McGregor. However, their association was shortlived as Malignaggi left the Irishman’s camp after a heated sparring session.
This is when this sparring video had originally come out. Since then, the two have had several back-and-forths. Last year, McGregor also posted a picture of Malignaggi laying down in the boxing ring, saying “I left you like a little seesaw”. This was when Malignaggi expressed his views that the former lightweight champion would be “easy work” for Jake Paul. Sharing their sparring footage, McGregor seems to have reignited their feud.
Recently, Dana White informed fans about McGregor’s next opponent, Michael Chandler. Fans are excited after hearing the news, as the MMA world knows both fighters for their entertaining fighting style. But the UFC have made no official announcement about a venue or a date. As McGregor actively films for the new TUF season 31, fans eagerly await the time when the Notorious will finally step back into the octagon.
