“During the filming of a documentary, an Egyptologist utilized scanning technology to discover a new pyramid buried within the Sahara desert. The site, known for its many tombs, was once a necropolis for the ancient Egyptian capital of Memphis, and is home to several renowned pyramids, including the Step Pyramid of Djoser.”

On the other side, Dr. Vasko Dobrev has spent the last three decades researching the region around 19 miles from Giza’s renowned Pyramids. Earlier this year, during Tony Robinson’s Channel 5 program “Opening Egypt’s Great Tomb,” his discoveries were made public.

For the past 30 years, Vasko Dobrev has been looking for a new pyramid in the desert west of Cairo.

“We frequently consider Giza’s recognizable pyramids, but Saqqara is home to the first pyramid in addition to a number of others,”

“These pyramids stretch back six centuries in Egyptian history, but a specific dynasty of pharaohs chose Saqqara to build their magnificent tombs.”

When Dr. Dobrev revealed how many pyramids may be buried beneath the sand, Mr. Robinson was shocked. He said, “There are possibly 120 [pyramids] all throughout Egypt.”

Saqqara is located just across the Nile from Memphis, the capital of Egypt, which is why the pharaohs built pyramids here.

“Did you see the little pyramid? The entire family is here, including Pepi II’s father, great-grandfather, and mother.”

The two then traveled to the top of a level plateau, where Dr. Dobrev thinks they would discover an unidentified pyramid.

He told Mr. Robinson, “Perhaps we have [below us] the Pharaoh Userkare. He did not reign for a long time, maybe three or four years. He couldn’t construct a 52-meter-high pyramid in three years.”

It’s probable that he just had enough time to construct the pyramid’s base. We had a fantastic vantage point, and we saw that Saqqara’s pyramids are all at the same level. He then revealed the evidence that supported his claim. Right angles were found throughout the area’s examination.

You can find the Step Pyramid in Sahara. So, Dr. Dobrev explained, “there’s a kind of pyramid level, and we have his father to the north, his son over there, and his grandson behind us.”

But we also have modern geophysical technology that shows accurate angles for things. We have a form of the square here that is exactly 80 by 80 meters in size, much like the pyramids of that time.

Mr. Robinson was shocked by an “unexpected” discovery in Aswan during the same series. Abd el-Monem, an archaeologist, speculated that it may have been Imhotep’s tomb after reading the inscriptions.

Beyond this discovery, which is several months old, there has been no further information on plans to investigate the location of the alleged pyramid.

There is reason to assume that we may learn more about the Saqqara necropolis shortly given the most recent endeavor to investigate and unravel its mysteries.
