A stunning injury time winner from Alejandro Garnacho sealed a fabulous comeback victory for Manchester United, who are still fighting on all three remaining fronts
Alejandro Garnacho’s late winner sealed Manchester United’s passage to the FA Cup quarter-finals
Manchester United supporters are convinced the “quadruple is on” after watching their side come from behind to beat West Ham in the FA Cup.
Said Benrahma gave the Hammers the lead on 54 minutes, but Erik ten Hag’s men drew level thanks to a Nayef Aguerd own goal with a quarter-of-an-hour to go. Alejandro Garnacho then put the Red Devils ahead as the clocked ticked over into injury time before Fred grabbed a late goal to seal passage to the quarters.
A clash with Premier League high-flyers Fulham is all that stands between them and their second appearance at Wembley this season, and United fans on social media have little doubt as to who will come out on top.
“The Quadruple dream is very much alive for Manchester United. Who says no? Bring on Fulham in the Quarter-final of the FA Cup,” tweeted one elated supporter after the game.
“The quadruple is officially on. Fulham don’t have a chance in hell of stopping us,” commented another, while a third took it up a notch, writing: “Glory glory Man United. We’re winning the quadruple. We’re winning the Olympics and we’re coming for the World Cup.”
The late winner summed up United’s glorious week
The win capped off a truly tremendous week for the Old Trafford club after they landed their first piece of major silverware in six years by beating Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, days after knocking the mighty Barcelona out of the Europa League.\
United have been in incredible form since returning, Cristiano Ronaldo-less, from the World Cup. The club have won 16 of the 20 matches they’ve played since the mid-season break, miraculously clawing their way into the Premier League title picture in the process.
