Conor McGregor is not someone you want to mess with, as some have learned the hard way. With his comeback to the UFC on the horizon, fans are eagerly anticipating his much-anticipated fight against Michael Chandler. Though the dates have not been confirmed, the fact that McGregor and Chandler are coaching opposing teams on TUF 31 is sure to add fuel to the already fiery rivalry between them. As a former double division champion, McGregor is no stranger to intense competition, and this upcoming fight promises to be one for the books.
While fans have been waiting eagerly for the fight, a heavyweight UFC fighter thought McGregor was a star of the past decade and said he wasn’t excited to watch him fight. This infuriated ‘The Notorious’.
Conor McGregor hit back at the heavyweight and threatened him in a Twitter tirade. His warning shots seem to have landed perfectly, as the heavyweight has agreed to back off and respect ‘Mystic Mac’. In his recent interview, British Heavyweight Tom Aspinall said, he will not talk about McGregor.
Conor McGregor warned UFC heavyweight
Conor McGregor was not a happy man when he learned about Tom Aspinall‘s comments about him. In a recent interview, the 29-year-old had said, “I’m honestly not that interested (in McGregor’s return). I’ll still watch it, but I’m more hyped about other fights. There are way more interesting fights than this. The heavyweight fights, the London Card; I could sit here and name fights all day.”
It didn’t take too long for the Irishman to let Aspinall know that it’s not wise to say such things about McGregor. In a Twitter tirade that he later deleted, McGregor said, “Bum pr**k. Say sayonara to that gk deal kid, Starve you and kill you I will you f**king disrespectful prick. Don’t ever speak my name in disrespect again. Mush potato head. ”
It seems that Tom Aspinall learned his lesson. In a new interview, Aspinall has accepted that he will not be commenting about McGregor going forward.
Talking to Sky Sports, Aspinall said, “Conor (McGregor) told me not to speak about him anymore so I’m going to respect that,” He further added, “I don’t want… He’s a scary guy. He made threats so I’m gonna back off. I ain’t gonna talk about him no more if that’s the case.”
McGregor starts as coach in TUF 31
Conor McGregor has been out of the game for a while now. The freak injury he sustained against Dustin Poirier has kept him away from the UFC. He has now recovered and is working as a coach at The Ultimate Fighter season 31. ‘Iron’ will coach opposite ‘McG’. It’s speculated that both McGregor and Chandler will face each other in the cage soon after the conclusion of TUF 31.
Conor McGregor will look to get back to fighting form before getting into the fight. While fans will be eager to see their favorite performing with his former luster, fighters like Tom Aspinall have learned that it still won’t be a safe thing to get into his bad books.
