He may not be a World Cup winner having crashed out of the tournament at the semi-final stage with Holland.
But Robin Van Persie is certainly a winner off the pitch in terms of his physique which he displayed in Barbados when he stripped down to a pair of swimming shorts to show off his rippling abs.
The 30-year-old footballer gave a nod to his native Netherlands as he wore a pair of shorts in the same colour as his home nation’s shirts.
Robin was joined on Sandy Lane beach by his friends and family, including his stunning wife Bouchra as well as their eight-year-old son Shaqueel and five-year-old daughter Dina.
Bouchra looked flawless in a bright two-piece pink bikini as she soaked up the sun on the beach.
Robin and Bouchra looked to be having a fantastic time as they were joined by family and friends on a huge towable inflatable which cruised across the ocean at blistering speed.
The footballer has been making the most of his post-World Cup break after starring in the tournament for Holland.
The star striker revealed after the World Cup campaign, in which he scored four goals and helped his country to a third-place finish, that he was in need of a break before returning to pre-season training with Manchester United.
Fortunately for the forward, the footballer’s Holland manager, Louis Van Gaal, is also his new Manchester United boss so he was only too happy to oblige after Robin played 548 minutes in the tournament.
Speaking about being given an extended break, he said: ‘I need that. It was a tough tournament.
‘Every match I gave it my all. That was just it, more wasn’t possible.’
Robin found the net four times during the prestigious tournament including twice in the country’s 5-1 thrashing of Spain and once in their 3-0 demolition of Brazil.
