An enormous bull elephant charged a group of safari tourists in an African wildlife reserve, gouged the vehicle with its tusks, and nearly toppled it over. The entire event was documented on camera.
The incident happened at the Selati Game Reserve in Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ and involved safari vehicles driven by trainers and students from the well-known safari guide training company EcoTraining.
A member of the group recorded a video of the lead safari vehicle stopping on a road that an elephant herd had blocked. A bull elephant bursts out of some shrubs and trees to the left of the road, charging. The truck is pushed sideways as the passengers leap out and flee as the elephant stops for a brief moment before smashing it with its tusks.
A second video, shot by someone in the following truck, documents the truck’s departure as the elephant turns and stampedes back into the undergrowth. The truck has been broken up into pieces like a Coke can in a third video that was shortly after the ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ and shows big gaping holes in both the door and the body.
