I love to look at all the kitchen decor inspo pictures on Pinterest to find new ways to add to my kitchen decor. There are many ways we can spruce up our kitchen without breaking the bank, here’s a list of 10 ways you can do that.
GREENERY
Plants are a great way to add to the decor in your kitchen. It has a way of making your apartment feel homier. If you’re like me you may not want the stress of taking care of real plants, and guess what? You don’t have to. There are a lot of great faux plants and vines that you can get. They’ll last forever and will never outgrow the space where you put them.
SHELVES
Shelves are awesome to store your kitchen items while adding decorative touches to your space. There are a lot of modern variations to the traditional boring shelves that we are used to such as floating, hanging, industrial, etc.
COUNTER TOP ORGANIZER
I prefer to not have everything all laid out on my kitchen counter, but let’s be honest there are some items that we use way too often to have tucked away. Keep these items in easy to reach spots but display them creatively in a countertop organizer. Add some faux greenery or real if you prefer and use cute labeled containers. Your everyday items will now double as decor pieces.
PASTEL PAINT
I love everything vintage and nothing says a vintage kitchen to me more than pastel-colored paint… well maybe vintage kitchen appliances. But nevertheless, pastel colors in your kitchen will be sure to brighten the room and add a vintage farmhouse touch.
CABINET HANDLES
Cabinet Handles seem may seem like such an insignificant element to your kitchen decor. But freshly painted cabinets and modern handles [I love white cabinets and gold handles] can make your kitchen look like a new place. Choose your pick from gold, stainless steel, black, or even gunmetal grey.
LIGHT FIXTURES
A light fixture may seem like a weird thing to change but believe it or not a unique light fixture is one of the first things you notice when you walk into a kitchen.
DECOR WALL
If you have an empty wall you can fill it with kitchen related items like the cutting boards in this picture or even picture frames or wall signs.
WALL SIGNS
I love these kitchen signs they add such vintage character to your space. You can get wooden letters, hanging signs, metal tin signs, or even chalkboard signs.
FRESH FLOWERS
Something as simple as keeping fresh flowers can add more life to your kitchen. Display them in vases that can also add to the decor.
RUG
One of my favourite things in a kitchen is definitely the rug, it adds so much to the decor in any room. This black and white rug is right up my alley.
HIGH STOOLS
If you have an island or a breakfast space, it’s an opportunity to add functional decor, like high stools which are always great. Functional items should add to the theme and decor where possible too.
STORAGE ITEMS
Another way to add functional decor is the containers that you use to store your spices, flour, sugar, coffee, etc. These glass containers are so clean and pretty that you won’t even want to use their contents.
Let me know if you used any of these ideas and how they worked for you!
