This thrilling encounter was discovered by Graeme Mitchley, the deputy principal of Hurlyvale Primary School while he was in the Kruger National Park ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to Lower Sabie.
He claimed to have been watching a leopard on the other side of the river. It was clearly a stalking and ʜᴜɴᴛing activity. He noticed a herd of impalas in the area and understood they had attracted its attention.
There was a lot of dust everywhere when the impala herd abruptly scattered. There was a lot of alarm shouting as he observed the leopard taking a bushbuck carcass into a nearby tree.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed movement in the water. In addition, the leopard was carrying the carcass up a tree, and two male lions were running in that way.
Because it wanted the leopard’s prey, one of the lions decided to climb the tree. The lion was determined to get its hands on the ᴍᴇᴀᴛ, but the leopard just eluded its grasp and climbed higher, carrying the ᴋɪʟʟ with it. The lion swung his left paw toward the intended prey. The lion rapidly realized he was in a bad situation and chose to descend.
