If you’re expecting and trying to decide whether you want a birth photographer present when you deliver, these pictures will totally make up your mind for you to absolutely, most definitely hire that photographer.
When a baby is born, it’s often described as “the miracle of life.” But it’s fair to say that some births are a little more miraculous than others.
Photographer Robin Baker has attended 70+ births in her six years as a professional birth photographer and doula, so she was definitely well-prepared to document the home birth of twins. It looks like her hard work paid off.
What’s even more incredible is that nothing was unusual when the first baby boy came out, but his brother was born “en caul,” meaning he was born still inside his amniotic sac, which only happens in about 1 in 80,000 births.“They had 30 minutes of bonding time with Baby A before Baby B made his way into his father’s hands, still en-caul (covered in the amniotic sac). The mom reached down and removed the sac, and the dad turned the baby to release the Nuchal cord and then handed him to the mom. The atmosphere was peaceful and joyous. It was truly one of the most incredible moments of my career! ” Baker explained.
