Kevin Richardson, the so called ‘Lion whisperer’, plays a game of football with his adopted pride.
Watch the game [at 2:00 min] in this promotional video:
Kevin Richardson is a South African animal behaviorist who has worked extensively with native animals of Africa. Along with lions, he has worked with cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.
Richardson rejects the traditional notion that lions should be mastered and dominated, preferring to develop a relationship over time, based on love and respect.”A lion is not a possession; it’s a sentient being, so you must pay attention and develop your bond like with any relationship.”
Richardson demonstrates that lions and animals in general, are social creatures with unique personalities, the deserve and respond to love and respect.[2]
“His unique method of getting to know their individual personalities, what makes each of them angry, happy, upset, or irritated-just like a mother understands a child-has caused them to accept him like one of their own into their fold.” [1]
Richardson hopes the media attention of his movies will raise public awareness on the need to protect and conserve Africa’s animals.
