1956 Ducati 125

This 1956 Ducati 125 is finished in blue and gold and is equipped with a 124cc four-stroke single paired with a four-speed transmission.

Features include a bevel-gear-driven overhead camshaft, a Marianna-style cylinder head with exposed valve springs, a Dell’Orto carburetor, a matte-black exhaust system, a kick starter, a black seat, front and rear lighting, a center stand, clip-on handlebars, 17″ wire-spoke wheels, rear-set foot controls, and front and side white number plates. The bike was reportedly repainted under prior ownership in a project that included overhauling the engine, and it was acquired by the seller in 2017. This Ducati 125 is now offered at no reserve with a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.

The 125 was designed by Fabio Taglioni, and this example was refinished under prior ownership in blue and gold with white pinstriping over a blue steel-tube frame. Features include a black vinyl seat with an upswept rear lip as well as a European-style license plate, a headlight, a taillight, a center stand, rear-set foot controls, and front and side white number plates.

Wire-spoke 17″ wheels wear Duro tires. Suspension consists of a conventional Marzocchi fork with exposed springs as well as dual adjustable shocks mounted to the swingarm. Braking is supplied by front and rear drums.

Clip-on handlebars are mounted below the top yoke, and a steering damper adjustment knob sits atop the steering stem. A Smiths 12k-rpm chronometric tachometer is mounted to the steering stem and a digital battery-powered speedometer with a sensor on the front wheel is mounted just ahead. Total mileage is unknown.

The 124cc four-stroke single was reportedly overhauled under prior ownership by Reno Leoni, whose name is inscribed on the engine case. Features include a bevel-gear-driven overhead camshaft, a Marianna-style cylinder head with exposed valve springs, a kick starter, a 22mm Dell’Orto carburetor, a polished velocity stack, a custom-machined points plate, and a matte-black exhaust system. The battery was replaced in preparation for the sale.

The number 00125DM is stamped on the engine case, and the number DM00125 is stamped on the frame, a photo of which can be viewed in the gallery.
